The DC-1394 PCI from Dawicontrol is based on a high-performance IEEE 1394 chipset. The IEEE 1394 standard (also known as FireWireTM and iLINK) offers a flexible and cost-effective way to transfer large amounts of data in real time between digital equipment such as DV camcorders and a PC.
The purely digital interface completely eliminates the loss of quality that occurs when using analog cameras. Data can therefore be transferred without loss.
